Role responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, role holder will be responsible for:

  • Leading strategic and decadal planning for learning, teaching, students, research, innovation and engagement
  • Implementing the Plan for Learning & Teaching university-wide to support the student-learning journey
  • Providing strategic support to the Vice-Chancellor, executive colleagues and the University
  • Representing the University and Vice-Chancellor in advocacy
  • Industry and business partnership development
  • Government liaison
  • Supporting the University’s widening access and employability plans and outreach
  • Overseeing the University’s pedagogy, assessment, learning spaces, online provision and learner journey
  • Effective management of academic structures
  • Building on the University’s world-leading research activity to underpin curriculum delivery and encourage innovation, knowledge exchange and innovation

Successful candidates will demonstrate the highest attributes of leadership, management experience and integrity within and outside the university sector.
