Implementation Officers are key members of our programme teams - defining and implementing new processes and solutions which deliver significant benefits to University students and staff.

IT Services has a vacancy for one full time Project Implementation Officer for its Infrastructure – Telephony project. This role is Fixed Term to 31 March 2021.

The objective of the Infrastructure – Telephony project is to replace the ageing telephony infrastructure within the University. The project will replace the current solutions for all non-user based telephony eg fire alarms, lift alarms, building management systems, comms rooms phones with up to date technology.

The main purpose of the Implementation Officer is to support the Project team, working with the Project Manager, 3rd party suppliers and Key Stakeholders/ Subject Matter Experts to ensure that the expectations of the users are appropriately managed and needs of the users are met with a suitable solution. This will require careful management of a range of 3rd party suppliers/contractors and liaison with our Estates teams to ensure delivery.

For this role, experience in the following areas is highly desirable:

  • Managing 3rd party suppliers
  • Business process mapping
  • Configuring and writing acceptance testing scenarios
  • User acceptance testing
  • Training users on new systems and processes
  • Creating and maintaining documentation
  • Development of multimedia training material
  • Knowledge of SCRUM or other Agile processes
  • Use of Jira, SharePoint, Office 365

  • -Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Enthusiasm to deliver new solutions
  • Planning and organisation
  • Ability to communicate complex issues to a broad user base

For project critical reasons, successful candidates must be available not more than 3 months from offer and would ideally be available to start immediately.
