(Level A) $68,982 - $92,796 / (Level B, Step 1) $97,577 per annum and employer contribution of 9.5% superannuation will apply.

Fixed term position available for 22 months

This position will best suit a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow with expertise in antenna theory, simulation and design

As the successful candidate, you will contribute to innovation toward the next generation of multi-beam multi-function array antennas, with focus on communications and radar applications.

The specific research project will focus on:

  • Array theory and engineering
  • Wideband element design
  • Feeding network design
  • Numerical electromagnetic and circuit modelling

As key member of a multi-institution effort, the Research Fellow will collaborate with leading researchers of a multi-disciplinary team in a highly dynamic environment. The successful candidate is expected to have a strong research track record and extensive experience in the area of antenna/microwave engineering and applied electromagnetics.

To be successful at Level A you will need:

  • A PhD or significant progress towards completion of a PhD in the field of antenna engineering (or a closely related field)
  • Proficiency in electromagnetic modelling and/or commercial simulation tools
  • Proficiency with fabrication techniques for antennas & RF circuits
  • Experience with antenna measurement techniques and test equipment
  • High-quality interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Australian citizenship and ability to obtain a baseline clearance

To be successful at Level B you will need:

  • A PhD in the field of antenna engineering (or a closely related field)
  • Several years of activity in research in this field as evidenced by publications or patents
  • Proficiency in electromagnetic modelling, CEM methods and/or commercial simulation tools
  • Proficiency with fabrication techniques for antennas & RF circuits
  • Extensive experience with antenna measurement techniques and test equipment
  • Australian citizenship and ability to obtain a baseline clearance
