Research Assistant Professor in Music (PR0235/19-20) 

The Department of Music at Hong Kong Baptist University (http://mus.hkbu.edu.hk) invites outstanding applicants for an appointment as Research Assistant Professor specialising in the Faculty Niche Research Area of Performance Studies. The appointee is expected to have an immediate focus upon research within his/her specialism and, in particular, to seek funding via the Hong Kong Research Grants Council grant mechanisms (such as the General Research Fund), as well as to contribute to the research strengths of the Department.

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in music (PhD degree or equivalent). The appointee is expected to be an active member in Department and Faculty-level administration, including (but not limited to) quality academic advising, supervision of undergraduate Honours Projects and postgraduate research.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years commencing September 2020. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
