The Propulsion Engineering Centre within the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing (SATM), runs a large international activity embracing applied research, industrial short courses and exciting MSc and PhD programmes. We enjoy global visibility and extensive links with industry. Our interests encompass novel cycles, gas turbine simulation and engine performance diagnostics. Continuing success and growth in the Centre has created an exciting opportunity in Gas Turbine Performance. The Centre also benefits from the use of industrial scale facilities that are deployed to carry out unique experimental work.

Applications for the position of Research Fellow or Lecturer are invited from individuals familiar with aircraft or propulsion modelling and system engineering analysis. You will be joining an exciting, vibrant team involved in cutting edge research and teaching provision.

Researchers and academics, who are passionate about research in aerospace, want to develop and build long term partnership relationships, and make a difference, with government, research councils, industry partners, and professional bodies, are invited to apply.

As Research Fellow you will be, educated to Doctorate level (or close to completion) in a relevant engineering discipline or have significant industrial experience in in a topic relevant to Aircraft Propulsion, Aircraft or Systems Modelling, Integration and Optimisation. You will have growing experience of leading Research Activities and a developing track record of publishing in high quality journals.

As Lecturer you will be educated to Doctorate Level and ideally have proven experience as a PI for projects with major clients and a proven track record of income generation, or equivalent. Demonstrable experience in CPD education a strong track record of publishing in high quality journals is essential. You will also have a demonstrable track record of delivering high quality teaching and student experience.

There will be opportunities to grow and develop your career and make a major positive contribution to the Centre’s activities. You will join the existing team in the Propulsion Engineering Centre and with the opportunity to make a contribution to related research, teaching and student supervision activities within the Centre.
