Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Discrete Choice Modelling.

This hub focuses three major deltas in Asia: the Red River, the Mekong and the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna. The interdisciplinary Hub operates on a model of equitable partnership, where delta-dwellers and the research community work together. It aims to develop new knowledge and policies that will create more resilient and sustainable communities. You will join over 50 international partner institutions and a team of over 50 early career researchers in UK universities and Hub countries working across disciplines towards this common goal.

Delta region farming communities are faced with water shortages, salinity intrusion, diffuse water pollution and other environmental pressures exacerbated by climate change. The researcher will investigate mangrove-shrimp and rice-shrimp farming systems, of varying production intensity, and ways to mitigate their environmental consequences by changing farmer and household behaviour through economic incentives, financial resilience building measures, regulations and information treatments. The researcher will also help identify sustainable economic opportunities within these fragile delta communities.

The successful candidate will have strong quantitative and/or regression analysis/econometrics skills and experience of conducting field surveys involving discrete choice experiments and/or randomised control trials.
