Research Associate in Genetics of Sickle Cell Disease
The successful applicant will conduct a study on the genetic modification of sickle cell disease in the Nigerian patient population.
The project will encompass all aspects of a population-based genetic study of a multifactorial/complex condition, such as patient recruitment, phenotyping, sample generation and maintenance, generation and processing of microarray data, statistical-genetic analysis and functional, wet-lab and cell-culture based functional investigation of modifier variants.
The work will also include maintaining close links with collaborators in Nigeria, including regular interaction with local clinical researchers and the provision of genetics training in Nigeria.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years or until 28/02/2023. This is a full-time post. The selection process will include a panel interview.
