Job description

We are looking for a Student Experience Coordinator to join our team at Napier University. Working as part of the Student Wellbeing and Inclusion team you will act as a business partner to the School of Health and Social Care as part of a newly created team that will deliver ongoing support and guidance to students.

Edinburgh Napier University is a forward thinking institution, home to forward-thinking people, inspired by the world around them. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with a clear strategy and growth agenda. Join us and you will find that we support ambition, recognise achievement and offer fantastic benefits such as an attractive pension of 20.4% and a minimum of 36 days holiday.

The role

The Student Experience Coordinator will act as the first point of contact for the School's Student Experience Team. This will involve managing enquiries, providing information and facilitating access to individual support.

The role will also work on a range of initiatives to enhance the broader experience of this large, diverse group of future nurses, midwives, social workers and allied health professionals. Some areas of particular focus for this role include:

  • Develop and maintain efficient and effective systems and processes to support the team's operation
  • Promote, monitor and evaluate all team activity
  • Assist with projects and initiatives in our identified priority activity areas: student volunteering/involvement; supporting students in practice placements; peer mentoring; creation of a programme of social events, issue-based groups/activities and information/awareness-raising campaigns

This role is expected to evolve over time with a range of other exciting and innovative work in conjunction with the skills and interests of the successful candidate and the needs of the student population.

Who we are looking for

With a degree qualification (or equivalent) we are looking for someone with a proven track record of supporting clients and individuals (ideally students) in difficult situations. Strong administrative experience in a customer facing role is important as well as a commitment to high standards. Candidates will be highly organised and happy to work in a team environment, taking the initiative to assess priorities and manage workload. Experience working in Higher Education would be beneficial as well as experience of working in health care although we are open to other backgrounds.

This role will suit someone who enjoys interacting with a diverse range of students and stakeholders who has an eye for detail and the appetite to make a difference and improve systems.

Salary: GBP 26,715 - GBP 31,865 (Grade 4)
