Established in September 2016, Lincoln School of Geography currently has 146 undergraduate and postgraduate students, 20 academic, research and support staff, and its first cohort of undergraduates will graduate in September 2020. We are particularly proud of our demographically and internationally diverse academic team, who bring global reach to both their research and teaching, and are soon be joined by a new chair of Human Geography. Research in the School encompasses a blend of interdisciplinary themes, supported by two established research groups: The Lincoln Centre of Water and Planetary Health and Rural Visions.  Alongside the roll-out of a new Masters programme, MA Development and the Environment, we are also seeking to grow a research theme in the broad area of global and regional development.

As part of the continued growth and development of our ambitious School we are seeking to appoint a new lecturer/senior lecturer in Social and Cultural Geography.  The appointment will be asked to support the development and delivery of our new MA and MGeog degree programmes which are planned to start in September 2020.   We are particularly keen to appoint an individual whose research and teaching focuses on equitable, sustainable societies or cultural approaches to development, demonstrating awareness of gender, ethnicities and/or indigenous communities. Interdisciplinary perspectives and the ability to employ mixed methods are also desirable.

We are looking for an excellent researcher with the ability to deliver creative and inspiring teaching.  You should also have some experience of teaching at postgraduate level.  Candidates must present a strong track record in research relevant to their career stage, evidenced by success in attracting funding and a publication portfolio suitable for REF submission.

Applicants are invited to contact Professor Mark Macklin, Head of School and co-director of the Lincoln Centre for Water and Planetary Health, to discuss this post.
