This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the Schools in the Faculty of Science. Whilst you will be based in Earth Sciences, you will provide administrative support for undergraduate field trips and field work to staff and students within two Schools (Earth Sciences and Geographical Sciences). The post is 1FTE (full time), 35 hours per week, on an open-ended contract.
You will be proactive and adaptable and used to working in a busy environment as well as having the ability to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines. You will have the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of people and have excellent organisational and administrative skills. You will have excellent customer care skills and be passionate about providing a high level of support to staff, students and your colleagues. You will be a team player who will support colleagues in the administration team during busy times such as January and May/June exam periods, University Open Days, School Visit Days etc. This role would suit someone who has experience of booking accommodation, travel (including flights and coach hire) and/or events organisation.
You will be experienced in using a range of IT systems including Microsoft Office 365 and be able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly. Previous experience of working in Higher Education would be desirable.
