Edith Cowan University (ECU) is a large multi-campus university with a rich history in Western Australian education. The University is conducting a Post-entry Language Assessment (PELA). It is a short written task of about 150 words, assessed on a simple marking scale (1, 2, 3).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Appropriate English language marking experience, preferably at a tertiary level.
  • Ability to mark up to 10 papers per hour.
  • Sound knowledge of English grammar and the ability to recognise and annotate errors in student writing samples.
  • Experience marking online, and or marking using Turnitin, highly desirable.
  • Available to mark papers either on campus or online from 24 February to 3 April 2019.  You do not need to be available for all marking sessions.
  • Short listed candidates will need to attend one information session at either Mount Lawley or Joondalup campus prior to the commencement of marking (dates during the week of 3 February 2020).

DETAILS:

  • Venues: ECU’s Mt Lawley and Joondalup campuses.
  • Marking sessions will take place from 9.00am to 1.00pm on most weekdays.
  • Marking may not be scheduled for every day and you do not need to be available for all sessions.
  • Light morning tea will be provided.
  • All details regarding dates and times will be negotiated with successful applicants.

REMUNERATION

Markers will be paid the standard rate for simple marking; i.e. $48.18 per hour
