At the heart of our University sits our School Support Service. Pertinent to both the day-to-day organisation of our Schools and our work into diverse and exciting research and projects; our School Support Service delivers flexible and resilient support to students and academic staff across the University.  

The role

Simply put, through excellent customer service, this role anticipate users' needs and delivers support services that are efficient, accessible and intuitive to our users. The role holder will support a number of high value CPD and other commercial projects across The Business School, and work closely with a range of stakeholders including the academic community, external clients such as Scottish Enterprise and other University departments.

This role combines commercial and administrative activity in an exciting context, including the following:

  • Ensuring programmes are appropriately set up on finance and student records systems
  • Supporting students throughout the student journey including module enrolment
  • Organising and facilitating events including programme workshops
  • Arranging travel and accommodation
  • Inputting marks to the student records systems and processed awards of credit
  • Purchasing in line with University procurement processes

 Please note although this role is predominantly based at our Craiglockhart campus, there may an expectation for you to work across all three of our Campuses when required.

What we're looking for

You will ideally have prior administrative experience, along with excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will be comfortable with working to agreed deadlines and will enjoy working within a team environment. You should be highly numerate, with excellent computer literacy (MS Office Programmes and network based email in particular). The ideal candidate will have an HNC/HND (or equivalent), or will be able to evidence having worked previously within a similar capacity to this role and will have an interest in The Business School's activities.
