The AA is made up of countless projects, personalities and audiences. The AA is unique in that we are more than just a school but a worldwide association, made up of members and visitors and an unrivalled public programme of lectures, exhibitions, publications and special events, all of which set the backdrop for full-time foundation, undergraduate - and graduate-level study at our campuses in London and Dorset. In addition, each year short courses and global schools in the AA Visiting School bring together students and teachers in more than 50 locations across five continents. Whether at Bedford Square or abroad the AA’s teachers and staff provide students with expertise, encouragement and support across all levels of education. Given the fact that 85 per cent of our students (and a similar percentage of tutors) come to London from abroad every autumn, we really are a school unlike any other.

Hooke Park is the AA’s rural woodland campus in Dorset, UK. Containing a growing educational facility, the unique site hosts workshop, studio, accommodation, and catering activities within a working woodland, and is led by a diverse staff including craftspeople, designers, engineers, roboteers, a forester and more. Hooke Park is home to the Design + Make post graduate masters programme, sees visits from AA units and programmes, and hosts numerous short programmes, lectures and events throughout the year.

Role Overview:

The AA seeks interesting and interested candidates for the Hooke Park Administrator position at our rural woodland campus in Dorset, UK. Based full time in Hooke Park, the administrator will provide all round support through the week, overseeing day-to-day facilities management and administration for the campus in close collaboration with the HP Warden.

The administrator will lead academic coordination and provision of pastoral care for both our Dorset based masters students and those visiting from London. The role involves facilitating the use of Hooke Park by visiting groups and short programmes/events – arranging staffing, housekeeping and catering. The successful candidate will also take charge of Health + Safety administration, keeping PPM schedules and ensuring site maintenance and training are kept up to date.

The Hooke Park Administrator will report to the Hooke Park Warden while working closely with our Dorset and London based staff, students and school community, as well as liaising with a range of external contractors who provide services for the campus. The successful candidate will demonstrate relevant experience of administrative and/or managerial role(s) and be able to operate relevant software at an appropriate level. Experience in an educational environment is desirable.
