(Level A) $68,912 to $92,796 per annum plus and an employer contribution of 9.5% superannuation will apply

Build your research career at the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials in a world-class research centre led by ARC Laureate Fellow, Professor Shizhang Qiao
This position best suits materials engineer or a scientist to work on renewable energy storage. Work includes synthesizing nanomaterials with well-defined structures, conducting various characterization, designing and fabricating batteries, and testing for battery performance.
The successful applicant will be working in CMEC, with a diverse range of scientists and engineers with expertise in materials science and engineering for energy related applications. The research will be interdisciplinary and have a strong fundamental component with cutting edge materials synthesis and advanced analytical methods.
To be successful you will need:
- A PhD (or thesis submitted/ready for submission) in Materials Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge and demonstrated competence in synthesis of nanostructured materials and their application in energy storage and conversion devices.
- Ability to work within a research group that include a mixture of undergraduate students, graduate students, post-docs and senior academic staff, with the direction of a supervisor.
- Good written (e.g. technical reports and scientific journal publications) and oral communication skills (e.g. seminars and conference presentations)
- A strong record of research in the field of Materials Science or Materials Engineering as evidenced by a nationally recognised publication record.
