Within the School of Law, the discipline area of Law and Criminology offers the Bachelor of Criminology with majors in Legal Studies, Criminal Behavior, Crime Science and White Collar & Corporate Crime. Criminology is an area experiencing substantial growth since it was introduced in 2017, with numbers doubling between 2017 and 2018. It offers multiple opportunities for development at Murdoch University, particularly in the postgraduate and transnational space.

The Role

This position will be required to:

  • Engage with innovative teaching and learning methods, including on-line and blended learning, co-design and co-delivery in teaching Undergraduate and Postgraduate students and to contribute to curriculum design, and evaluation of learning and teaching activities.
  • Contribute to the development of industry-engaged teaching via short courses or micro-credentials.
  • Engage in the supervision of Honours students, Postgraduate coursework research projects and HDR students.
  • Make a significant contribution to the University through active engagement with external stakeholders

Skills and Experience

The preferred candidate will have:

  • A PhD in an area relevant to appointment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary approaches to curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated experience and success innovative course and program coordination and design.
  • A track record of success in obtaining and successfully managing external competitive grant funds.
