The Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing at Coventry University is one of the largest in the UK and is nationally and internationally renowned as a centre of innovation for its teaching, learning and research of computing subject areas. The School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics is one of three schools within the faculty and has a very successful suite of courses supported by excellent staff, teaching facilities and laboratories. The school is responsible for the development of a thriving portfolio of teaching and research.

The School of Computing Electronics and Mathematics is looking for a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Electronics and Electrical Machines. We are looking for a candidate with expertise in one or more of the following areas: electromagnetic analysis of electrical machines, efficiency improvement of electrical machines, vibration and noise in electrical machines, design and optimization of electrical machines, condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of electrical machines, control of electrical machines. The candidate should also have hands on practical experience with electrical machines, as well as experience with numerical analysis, such as the finite element method, applied to electrical machines.

We are looking for a candidate who has extensive experience of developing and delivering modules in electrical engineering, power electronics & electrical science and delivering & developing practical labs in electrical both at UG & PG level.

 You will be able to contribute to research groups or communities of practice internally, through the Faculty Research Centres, and externally, assisting with bids and tenders for external projects or contracts. You will also be disseminating research outputs using a range of media and develop external networks nationally and/or internationally. Experience with transnational education and/or quality and approval issues surrounding course design would be helpful. With a PhD and appropriate professional qualification and/or membership, you will need to demonstrate teaching experience at higher education level with evidence of successful student learning outcomes. Experience of working on applied research projectsor contracts, supported by evidence of contribution to appropriate outputs or experience of professional practice/consultancy will be required.
