Simulation Technician- Simulation and Clinical Skills - Full Time
We are currently looking for a Simulation Technician in the School of Health & Social Care on a full time basis.
Edinburgh Napier is one of the largest providers of nursing and midwifery education in Scotland; with a further significant profile across the wider UK and a strong transnational education portfolio. Uniquely, in Scotland, the School offers midwifery and all four fields of practice in nursing: adult, child health, mental health and learning disabilities.
The Role
The School of Health and Social Care is seeking a talented individual to join the team to provide technical support for simulated practice and the delivery of clinical skills to our programmes together with operational and administrative activities.
The post holder will be part of a team of teaching associates and Technicians supporting clinical skills and simulated practice learning, teaching and assessment in the School. The support will primarily be focused on the pre-registration physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work and nursing and midwifery programmes.

Who we are looking for
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and well-developed IT skills. In addition, you must have good problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work effectively on your own initiative and within a team.
Essential:
- A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent or equivalent professional experience within Simulation and Clinical Practice.
- Practical knowledge and experience of technical equipment.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, and the safe handling of hazardous solutions and chemicals.
- Experience of working in a busy environment.
Desirable:
- Practical clinical experience within Nursing and Midwifery.
- Experience of working in a clinical skills centre or healthcare environment.
- Experience of working in Higher Education institutions.
The simulation technician will be based within the Simulation Centre at our Sighthill Campus.
