We are seeking the position of a research assistant for web-design and programming in the research project Chronologicum Hibernicum – A Probabilistic Chronological Framework for Dating Early Irish Language Developments and Literature (ChronHib), funded by a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council and led by Professor David Stifter. ChronHib aims at making progress in establishing a finely-tuned chronology of Early Irish language developments and literature, by closely studying and mapping linguistic change and variation in the literature from the period.
The research assistant will be expected to support the computational aspect of the project work. The successful candidate will work together with the project staff to enhance the usability of the project website, especially the web-interface and the search mask of the project’s database CorPH (Corpus PalaeoHibernicum). The successful candidate may also be asked to assist in the design and develop¬ment of other web applications and software tools for the project.
Research Assistant Level 2 Salary Scale: €30,358 per annum pro rata
Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.
*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the above scale.
23:30hrs (local Irish time) on Monday, 9th December 2019.
