We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated health services researcher to join a large multidisciplinary surgical research team directed by Professor Jane Blazeby, Professor of Surgery (www.bristol.ac.uk/population-health-sciences/centres/surgical-research/). Our collaborative work aims to transform patient care by increasing evidence-based surgery.

The post will suit a researcher with a PhD in mixed methods or health services research, who is keen to develop a personal research profile in surgical trial methodology.

The post-holder will focus on specific projects within the Bristol Centre for Surgical Research and BRC surgical innovation theme, with opportunities to design future research studies, apply for external funding and personal fellowships, write for journal publication, teach, and develop an independent research portfolio. This post is available on a full-time basis (35 hours per week) and is funded for 24 months from the date of appointment (anticipated April 2020 or earlier if possible).
