Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor jointly held in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 499149), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or an equivalent qualification relevant to the field of health and health services research.  They should be currently active in research with a track record in both research publications and competitive research grants.  Applicants should also demonstrate an interest and potential in teaching.  Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated abilities in analysis of big clinical data and health services research in Internal Medicine.  Applicants should also have an excellent command of spoken and written English, knowledge of medical statistics and skills of using advanced statistics software.  The appointee will be responsible for developing research programmes on health and health services, and contribute to undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and service/administration in the Departments and Faculty of Medicine.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
