Job description

Department: Human Resources

We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide high quality administrative and operational support for the Human Resources team. You will deliver a helpful, confidential and professional service to managers and staff across the University.  Although your main function will be to act as the first point of contact for the receipt and inputting of professional services and academic contracts onto our HR database, working to payroll deadlines, you will contribute to a range of different departmental activities and will be an 'all-rounder' able to pick up responsibilities as required across the areas of professional development and staff recruitment. This will include liaising with trainers, applicants and interview candidates, assisting with inductions and maintaining up-to-date records of appraisals and probationary reviews.

You will have a good general education including excellent literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to use spreadsheets and databases demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail. In addition, you will have experience of working to tight deadlines and meeting agreed targets.

It is crucial that you can work independently and flexibly and also as part of a team with a helpful and positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.

Informal enquiries are welcomed by Helen Girling, HR Manager via email at H.Girling@chi.ac.uk or telephone 01243 816120 or Charlotte Meneely, HR Manager via email at C.Meneely@chi.ac.uk or telephone 01243 816320.

The University of Chichester welcomes applicants from BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) backgrounds as they are currently under-represented.
