Closing date

The Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group for young researchers from Engineering, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, co-financed by the Friedrich and Elisabeth Boysen Foundation and the Technische Universität Dresden, is offering a

Postdoc Position

starting on February 01, 2020, for a period of 2 years with the possibility of an extension of a further 2 years. The remuneration is based on the DFG guidelines for doctoral researchers.

The interdisciplinary Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group Mobility in flux - Challenges and solutions for technology, environment and society consists of four clusters of three to five PhD projects each, into which this postdoc project should be integrated.

In the framework of the postdoc project Exnovation within Mobility Change – Implications for Resource Ecology and Society, exnovations are to be scientifically investigated in the light of changes in the mobility sector. Complementing and supporting the interdisciplinary doctoral research projects within the Research Training Group, concepts will be developed, analyzed, and their effects developed in particular from the point of view of resource ecology, technology, and society. Results from the Research Training Group should provide a sound basis for these examinations. By closing this research gap, the aim is to make contributions to the design of exnovations for technical, entrepreneurial, and political decisions and thus make a significant contribution to increasing the social acceptance of new technologies.

The research topic is designed to be interdisciplinary, has a high potential to connect research projects that are already underway within the Research Training Group, as well as other natural and engineering science projects, and is intended to contribute to the integration of the existing clusters. The project is being carried out in collaboration with Aalto Universität Helsinki, ETH Zurich, TU Delft, and Universitat Politecnica Barcelona; thereby, the international scientific visibility of the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group should be increased considerably.
