The School of Humanities seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Public Humanities (Professional Practice focus).

The post-holder will be responsible for developing and championing public engagement within the Humanities; initiating, developing and managing a wide range of external partnerships and public engagement projects that are aimed at enhancing the profile and reputation of the School’s research and teaching; increasing the volume and broadening the base of external funding to facilitate this work; and providing opportunities for staff and students to develop their own understanding of public engagement.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of devising, securing funding for and managing large scale public engagement activities and projects, ideally at a Higher Education institution, and experience of providing relevant teaching to students and training or support for academic colleagues. It is also desirable that they have experience of brokering and managing partnerships with national institutions; engagement with schools and FE colleges; the design and delivery of E-Learning courses; the production of video and or podcast content; and managing complex budgets, teams and stakeholder relationships.
