A research technician position funded by the European Research Council, is available in the laboratory of Dr. Brian Stramer at King’s College London.

We are advertising the post on 2 bands and the successful candidate will be employed on one of them depending on skills, qualifications and experience.

The post does not qualify for a Certificate of Sponsorship under Home Office Regulations therefore the university will not be able to offer sponsorship for this post.

We are looking for a motivated research technician to work in the laboratory of Dr. Brian Stramer within the Randall Centre for Cell and Molecular Biophysics at King’s College London.  The project aims are to investigate the mechanisms and functions of cell migration in a living animal by exploiting the embryonic dispersal of Drosophila macrophages. The postholder will be responsible for overseeing the Drosophila laboratory, coordinating fly stocks, and helping perform day-to-day experiments.  They will gain experience with Drosophila genetics, molecular biology and advanced imaging techniques.  The successful candidate will have at least a BSc degree in the Life Sciences and basic laboratory experience.  While this post is for approximately 14 months, there is the possibility of extension or moving onto a PhD studentship.
