We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Department of Basic and Clinical Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London.

The post is funded by Alzheimer’s Research UK and will examine the mechanisms underlying tau release during the progression of Alzheimer’s disease using organotypic brain slice cultures. We aim to determine if physiological and pathological forms of tau are released by different routes, and if they are differentially affected by changes in synapse function during the progression of disease.

Experience in working with transgenic mouse models of neurodegenerative disease and with cell cultures (ideally organotypic brain slice culture) is advantageous. We also welcome candidates with experience in advanced cell imaging, biochemical and molecular biology approaches. A good knowledge of tau biology, synaptic degeneration and dementia is also preferred. The successful applicants will join established and highly collaborative research groups headed by Dr Wendy Noble, Professor Diane Hanger and Dr Beatriz Perez-Nievas.

Please note that interviews will be held on 17th or 18th Jan, and the successful candidate must be available to start no later than 31st March 2020.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years.

This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent.

The selection process will include a panel interview and a presentation.
