The School of Computer Science is one of the University’s more mature and longer-standing Schools and is central to the University’s strategy to build its STEM provision as well as teaching and research excellence in the sciences.  Our portfolio of research and teaching covers a wide spectrum of Computer Science with strong activities in four core areas – the Lincoln Centre for Autonomous Systems (L-CAS); the Interaction Lab (intLab); the Laboratory of Vision Engineering (LoVE); and the Machine Learning group (mLearn). We run undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Games Computing, as well as a number of MSc programmes in Computer Science, Robotics & Autonomous Systems, Games Development & Design, and Intelligent Vision.  We are building up our internationally recognised research and teaching environment with a focus on interdisciplinary working and research-led teaching. In 2017, along with colleagues from the School of Maths and Physics and the School of Engineering, we moved into the purpose-built Isaac Newton Building, part of a £130m investment programme, which became home to our teaching and research activities and houses all our staff and students in world-class facilities. The School's ambitions require us to deliver excellent teaching alongside, and benefitting from, excellent research, scholarly and professional practice.  We are aiming for high levels of student satisfaction, as well as increased grant income and high quality REF and TEF returns.
