Junior Research Fellow

(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting 01.07.2020, in the field of synthetic biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or biological materials. The position is limited for 3 years. Extension for additional two years is possible after positive evaluation. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG).

B CUBE is an interdisciplinary research center focusing on three research dimensions: Bioprospecting, BioNano Tools, and Biomimetic Materials (see www.tu-dresden.de/bcube). The Junior Research Fellow will be part of a dynamic institute of TU Dresden situated on the Life Science Campus next to the Biotechnology Center, the DFG Cluster of Excellence “Physics of Life”, the Center for Regenerative Therapies, the School of Medicine, and the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics.

Tasks: The successful applicant will receive an own research budget for a period of three years and will be scientifically independent. During the fellowship, the applicant will be invited to apply, together with B CUBE, for junior group leader funding from, e.g. Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (Emmy-Noether program), European Union (ERC starting grant), VolkswagenStiftung (Freigeist fellowship) or equivalent programs. B CUBE offers an excellent scientific environment with career mentoring, state-of-the-art equipment as well as dedicated laboratory and office space in a new research building.

Requirements: university and doctoral degree (within two years after PhD completion). Applicants are expected to have an excellent scientific track record in molecular genetics, molecular cell biology, biochemistry, chemical biology, or biophysics.
