Overview:

The School of International Arbitration, within the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London, is seeking to employ a suitably qualified Post-Doctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) on a fixed-term contract.

The PDRA will conduct research into how large corporations and other entities involved in technology, media and telecommunications matters resolve international disputes through the process of international arbitration and their attitudes towards non-judicial settlement of disputes. This project will include the design and development of research materials and the development of questionnaires; conducting interviews; analysis of research data; production of research reports.

The post holder will report to the Director of the School of International Arbitration and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies and the Research Liaison Committee which will include designated staff of White & Case. The PDRA will also assist in the work of the School of International Arbitration as advised by the Director.

The successful candidate must hold a PhD and/or equivalent professional experience in arbitration or dispute resolution and/or technology, media and telecommunications and have Knowledge of international arbitration and empirical research methods.

The post is a part time, fixed term appointment for 8 months. The salary will be £34,220 per annum (pro rata), inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
