Overview:

The Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) at Queen Mary University of London specialises in the knowledge and skills in commercial law that can be placed at the service of government, public bodies, overseas institutions, the legal profession, industry and commerce. The Centre for Commercial Law Studies is a leading research Centre and hosts internationally excellent institutes in the fields of international commercial law and competition law.

The post-holder will participate and actively contribute to research projects in competition law including merger control. The research work may involve topics that will focus on the aims of competition policy, public interest considerations, industrial policy and national security in merger control, the challenges of competition enforcement in digital markets. The post-holder will be given time (20%) to develop their own research projects. 

The post holder should have a PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant discipline and be able to demonstrate ability to conduct research taking a variety of methodological approaches, including doctrinal, theoretical and empirical. The successful candidate should also be able to take an active role in the dissemination and impact activities, such as organisation of conferences, engagement with non-academic stakeholders and use of social media. The post holder may also be have the opportunity to deliver lectures and/or seminars.

 This post is fixed term and the starting salary will be in the range of £31,613-£40,194 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
