Today, its undergraduate and postgraduate courses represent the breadth of the creative industries, the fastest growing sector in the UK economy. In the context of the fourth industrial revolution, Falmouth’s specialisms will be key to future economic and cultural success both at a local and global level; acting as an anchor institution in Cornwall, Falmouth drives initiatives that help take Cornwall global.

Falmouth’s ambitious 2030 Strategy, ‘Doing it for Real’, is designed to deliver yet further growth in student numbers and income through portfolio diversification, innovation, research and commercial ventures. It will establish Falmouth as the market leader for creative industries and entrepreneurship education over the next decade, capitalising on the University’s considerable assets in innovation-led research and business incubation.

To accelerate the delivery of the 2030 Strategy, Falmouth is seeking to appoint a Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research & Innovation.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research & Innovation will embed the 2030 Research & Innovation Strategy across the University. They will be able to evidence expert understanding of impact, collaboration and investment, as well as demonstrable individual quality research and/or innovation outputs.

Creative, connected and courageous, the appointee will have the opportunity to build on a successful platform to ensure Falmouth’s position at the cutting edge of higher education.

The role will play a leading part in the realisation of a bold and transformational vision for a dynamic and agile University; if you share in this vision and have the appetite and experience to help deliver this, your application would be welcomed.
