About the team

The School of Human Sciences is a large multi-disciplinary entity with research and teaching focused on better understanding of what it is to be human; our structure, function, development, genetics, adaption, performance and evolution.

The School of Human Sciences delivers post-graduate courses in Audiology. National and international opportunities in this field have resulted in the creation of new positions in teaching, research and clinical applications in Audiology.

About the opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work with the Audiology team to help design, review and deliver our Audiology courses with a focus on the new Master of Audiological Sciences in Semester 1, 2020.

In this position, you will work closely with the Clinical Director and Research Director to develop, deliver and assess postgraduate courses in Audiology. The work will also involve teaching, conducting research and supervision of students and audiology research projects.

Opportunities to travel to rural locations and work with community partners will also arise.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A postgraduate qualification in hearing sciences
  • A Master of Clinical Audiology degree (or equivalent) and eligibility for full membership of Audiology Australia, including clinical certification as an Accredited Audiologist
  • Effective organisational, time management and high-level communication skills in a team environment
  • Relevant experience including publications and preparation of research proposals.

About you

You will be an enthusiastic early career academic with a flexible approach to learning and teaching, and a willingness to work effectively with colleagues and community partners. You will engage with community partners to promote collaborative research, development and teaching projects. You will be an excellent communicator with relevant research experience and knowledge of educational principles at the postgraduate level. You will have experience in student supervision and ideally in curriculum development and teaching.

You will be an advocate for hearing health policy, practice and hearing-related endeavours within Australia and world-wide.
