Position overview

The Research School for Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Australian National University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow. The successful applicant will work as part of the MAGPI survey team (https://magpisurvey.org/) to explore the physical processes driving galaxy kinematic, morphological, and chemical evolution. This position is focused in particular on making evolutionary connections between early galaxy formation and subsequent evolution during the cosmic decline of star-formation. The research will require working with optical integral field spectroscopic data, multi-wavelength data products, as well as designing and carrying out follow-up observing campaigns. Applicants interested in making theoretical connections to the new MAGPI dataset are also encouraged to apply.

The appointee will work under the supervision of Dr. Emily Wisnioski, joining one of the most active research institutes in Australia with access to state-of-the art instrumentation and computing facilities.
