As a Research Fellow you will support research and supervision activities within the Aircraft Design Group, especially focusing on supporting the Professor of Aircraft Design. Tasks will include supervising MSc and PhD students, contributing, where appropriate, to research contracts and assisting with publications. You will also be responsible for the management of aircraft design related software packages and tools being developed. Most of the work will be technical in nature with some administrative activities.

You will have a PhD (or close to completion) in Aerospace Engineering, or related subject and a track record of publishing in high quality journals. You will also be able to carry out independent research as well as collaborative research with multiple partner institutions.

You will have a strong track record in aircraft conceptual design and aircraft conceptual design software development with a subject focus on MVO. Experience in supporting preliminary design studies will be desirable.
