Role Description

We are looking for a friendly and professional person to manage a range of services relating to our support of international students. Cranfield University attracts high numbers of international students from over 100 countries every year.

You will manage a range of initiatives to support the recruitment and studies of international students, including managing overseas visa applications, visa extension applications and in-country transfers under the UK points-based immigration system, a number of international scholarship and loan schemes, as well as general advice and support for international students overseas and while they are at the University.

You will have extensive engagement with staff and students, providing direct expert advice and support they need to ensure a positive student experience.

You will need to demonstrate initiative and work pro-actively to advise and support students through direct advice and work with staff right across the University to provide details and expert advice and guidance on a range of issues.

You will be degree qualified (or equivalent) and will have excellent interpersonal skills. You will have extensive experience of advice and guidance to international students based on clear understanding and interpretation of complex and specialist knowledge gained from external agencies, including the UKVI, UKCISA, Student Loan Company, and British Council. Experience, or a demonstrable understanding of funding structures relating to higher education provision is essential.  You will also have detailed knowledge of the UK immigration systems and their implications for higher education institutions.

The role is based on our Cranfield campus, but you will be required to travel to our campus in Shrivenham (near Swindon) from time to time. The role will require DBS and financial checks.

For an informal discussion, please contact Mohammed Ali, Assistant Registrar (Head of Student Immigration and Funding), on (T); +44 (0)1234 75 4901 or (E); m.o.ali@cranfield.ac.uk
