Role Description

Cranfield School of Management is a leading provider of innovative, practical management education focused on the outcomes for learners and organisations. We are a world leader in research and education on leadership and management, delivering outstanding scholarship and excellent teaching through our distinctive academics and their direct engagement with practice.

We focus on knowledge that addresses real world problems in a dynamic interaction between academics and practitioners.  We work with experienced managers, technology leaders and executives and challenge them to improve their practice.

The Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship at Cranfield focuses on the study and facilitation of entrepreneurial growth and aims to unlock the entrepreneurial potential of high growth businesses by closely linking research, education and practice. In particular, our work focuses on family business, entrepreneurial leadership and finance, social enterprises and technology commercialization. We expect that the appointee will add value to these themes and open up new areas of activity. Furthermore, the Centre covers all areas across the entrepreneurial life cycle in terms of research, graduate programmes, executive education, and networking events.

The Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship is looking for a lecturer/senior lecturer to work with us to grow the Centre – this role will contribute to the broader aims and objectives of the Bettany Centre, in particularly the extension of the Centre’s thought leadership through active research and publishing.

This role will report to the Director of the Bettany Centre and to be successful you will already have a doctorate in a relevant discipline.

It is expected that you will have a developing publications pipeline, and preferably some programme or executive course leadership experience. Cranfield also values industrial experience and therefore previous practical experience of working in industry is welcomed.

For an informal discussion about either role, please contact Dr Stephanie Hussels, Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship on (E); stephanie.hussels@cranfield.ac.uk or (T); +441234 750111 Ext 3688.

At Cranfield, we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential. We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role.

Interview date: 10 January 2020
