Location: City Campus, Newcastle

Working within the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences and the research theme Extreme Environments, you will conduct research in polar oceanography with a particular focus on slope-front dynamics and ice-ocean interactions.

The position is permanent and structured as followed:

From 1st April 2020 to 31stJuly 2020, you will work as an independent researcher on ice-ocean interactions.

From 1st August 2020 to 31stJuly 2023 you will work as an independent researcher on the EU funded research project ‘TiPACCS’ in a collaboration with Prof Adrian Jenkins at Northumbria University, and other international members of the TiPACCS team.

From 1st August 2023, and after a successful completion of your probation period, you will become a permanent senior lecturer at the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences.

You must hold a PhD degree in earth sciences, physics, mathematics or related fields.
