We are looking to appoint an experienced academic who can add to our profile. You will demonstrate a leadership capability in the subject, and will be expected to contribute to leadership roles within the Division of Engineering. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the Mechanics of Materials and Finite Element Analysis areas.

Your experience will demonstrate a commitment to high quality, innovative education with a global outlook. You will augment our commercial and / or research activities, and will exhibit an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset to enhance the impact of your work. The School’s research is organised into a close community of inter-disciplinary research groups in areas, with growing interests in future energy, manufacturing and engineering technologies. 

The prospective candidate should have an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from a professionally accredited Mechanical Engineering programme and be qualified to PhD level in a Mechanical Engineering subject. Full membership of an appropriate professional body such as the IMechE (or equivalent) and HEA is desirable.  A proven track record in commercial practice and / or research with a strong research profile along with considerable experience of lecturing in the appropriate engineering disciplines is expected.

This position will be based at our Paisley Campus with some scheduled activities at our other campus locations such as the new Lanarkshire Campus.  The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to our outreach activities promoting STEM subjects and our international academic activities.
