$121,829- $140,416 (ALC) and 17% superannuation

We believe that investing in dedicated people and their ideas will make tomorrow better. With this in mind, the School of Design and the Built Environment is seeking a teaching and research academic with a focus on both Digital Design and Animation & Game Design.

The role of Senior Lecturer in Digital Design and Animation & Game Design will contribute to the leadership and growth of our new majors, and encompass undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision. Your enthusiasm and passion for Digital Design and Animation & Game Design will assist you to conduct activities that stimulate and foster student learning, and ensure innovative curriculum design and development of learning materials.

As a teaching-research academic you will demonstrate experience in leadership, high quality teaching and innovation in curriculum, pedagogy and content delivery in the higher education environment. You must also have an established research record of sustained high-quality publications with evident senior authorship contribution and the attraction of competitive external grants. A track record of industry engagement with game, design or media partners is considered desirable.

The successful applicant must hold a PhD that encompasses both discipline areas and have core industry experience in the domains of Digital Design (ie. UI/UX, Web Design & App Design) as well as Animation & Game Design (ie. 3D content creation, serious game design & immersive level design). Applicants are expected to have worked on the latest animation and game pipelines, tools and media platforms from console to AR, VR and mixed reality approaches. Additionally, applicants must have worked with the latest front-end development frameworks, languages, tools and platforms to create highly interactive, responsive and engaging digital user experiences.
