A unique opportunity to be the lead post-doctoral researcher on the NIHR Research Professorship programme recently awarded to Professor Richard Emsley, that aims to deliver better clinical trials of new treatments in mental health. You will join an established team of statisticians in the Department of Biostatistics and Health Informatics. The department is world-renowned for developing novel methodology and applications in the field of mental health, and is currently expanding by recruiting to several new posts in this area.

You will work on developing methodology for the design and analysis of randomised clinical trials. This will involve leading and developing research projects to promote the use of more efficient clinical trial designs, co-ordinating new initiatives to deliver these, and supervising PhD students. It will require a good understanding of statistical methodology for clinical trials, particularly in relation to adaptive designs, and proven expertise in Stata, R and latent variable software.  Your contribution to both applied analysis and methodological development will be recognised through first authorship on publications and opportunity is provided for further professional development, including applying for future personal funding.

This post will be offered until 31st October 2024.

This is a full-time post.

The selection process will include a panel interview and a presentation.
