Working in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace & Automotive Engineering, you will be committed to contributing to our continued success in delivery of engineering programmes. You will join a School with high levels of teaching quality and student satisfaction (ranked in the Guardian University Guide 2020 in the country's top three for our courses in Mechanical Engineering).
The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the delivery of topics relating to systematic Engineering Design synonymous with current industrial best-practice. Demonstrating the need for dynamic, flexible and robust design processes, this role will facilitate students' knowledge of a rigorous approach to the design discipline. The design curriculum incorporates appropriate use of contributing disciplines such as; Sustainability, Problem Function Analysis and Evaluation (QFD, FMEA), Computer Aided Design, Quality Assurance, Lifecycle Analysis, DFX and Project Management.
You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge in your area ofs pecialisation and support the school's research culture. You must be willing to work flexibly and promote and support international partnerships, aswell as potentially deliver teaching onsite at one of our international partners.
The candidate should be qualified to PhD level in a relevant subject. Alternatively, candidates with relevant industrial experience to an equivalent level are also encouraged to apply.
Experience of working on applied research projects or contracts, as well as participation in professional practice/consultancy will be advantageous and successful candidates will have the opportunity to become a member of one of our Research Centres.
The position is also open to candidates who wish to focus on teaching practice,development and management.
