We are seeking to appoint a talented Research Support Assistant to support an exciting new National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)-funded study, ‘Optimising Staff-patient Communication in Advanced Renal disease (OSCAR)’. This four-year project is linked to an NIHR Advanced Fellowship awarded to Dr Lucy Selman (University of Bristol); collaborators include national and international experts in kidney disease, healthcare communication and palliative care research. The post-holder will be based in Population Health Sciences within Bristol Medical School.

The post will suit individuals with training in research methods, and some experience of undertaking applied health research. Knowledge and understanding of conversation analytic methods would be beneficial. There will be significant training and development opportunities for the post-holder, including the possibility of conducting a funded PhD alongside the Research Support Assistant role. Applicants will want to develop and extend their careers by playing a key role in an applied health research project, gaining skills and experience in collecting, managing and analysing naturalistic, qualitive and quantitative data.

Interviews are planned for 21 November 2019.
