$121,829-$161,474 (ALC-ALD) plus applicable Superannuation, and clinical loading by negotiation.

About us

Established in 2017, the Curtin Medical School, which is part of the Faculty of Health Sciences, brings together multidisciplinary teaching and research expertise, and offers the only undergraduate medical degree in Western Australia. The curriculum is driven by a future focussed approach to medicine and aligns with the School’s emphasis on medically underserved populations in rural, remote and outer metropolitan locations in Western Australia.

Your new role

The Curtin Medical School invites applications from eligible candidates, for a new position within the School, based at the Bentley campus.

The University may make more than one part-time appointment. The level of appointment is negotiable depending on qualifications and skills.

In the early years of its establishment Curtin Medical School has focused on providing innovation and excellence in teaching.  As a teaching academic staff member, you will coordinate the Professional and Personal Development Theme. This Theme includes the areas of professionalism, law, ethics, wellbeing and leadership, across the five years of the MBBS course. You will be required to make a substantial contribution to development of written exams and OSCEs in the later years of the course, and assist with the development of the curriculum related to the Theme.  Over time the School will also be working to establish its research focus and build its research capacity.  Applications from teaching and research academics, as well as teaching focused academics would therefore be welcome.

You will bring to the role

  • A registerable medical qualification
  • Experience in teaching medical students in classroom/clinical settings
  • Experience developing curriculum related to professionalism, law, and ethics
  • Experience in writing/developing written and performance assessments for medical students
  • Current engagement in clinical or medical education research (desirable).
