Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University is one of few business schools worldwide that have double AACSB accreditation for both Business and Accounting. We have an outstanding reputation in the delivery of business relevant programmes that are underpinned by research. Northumbria's improvement in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework for research power was reported as being the biggest in the country, and within our Business and Management submission over 60% of our Impact was assessed as either world leading or internationally excellent. Many of our business programmes have EPAS accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development and/or enjoy professional accreditation from a range of highly regarded professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) [CILT UK] and the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). In 2015, Newcastle Business School won the prestigious Times Higher Education “Business School of the Year” award.

Working within the Department of Marketing, Operations and Systems, you will join a team of highly qualified academics with a passion for enhancing the student experience. You will contribute to research informed and technology enabled learning and teaching on our contemporary suites of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. In addition to teaching, you will undertake research and scholarly activities contributing to the Faculty’s research profile and REF submission, together with contributing to consultancy, enterprise, and other income generation and business development activities. In addition to our London Campus, Northumbria University recently opened its new campus in the heart of the European Union in the city of Amsterdam with the first students enrolling in September 2018. This provides new exciting opportunity for research and teaching activities.

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management. You must have (or be close to completing) a PhD or DBA in a relevant Operations and SCM field, coupled with a record of high quality publications suitable for inclusion in future Research Excellence Framework exercises. With excellent interpersonal skills, you must be able to demonstrate expert knowledge in the field and be able to teach effectively on a range of academic and professional programmes using a variety of approaches to student learning. You will possess strong quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills and ideally be a member of an appropriate professional body.

We are particularly interested in applicants in the areas of Supply Chain and Logistics Leadership, and Operations Management, but other areas will be considered depending on profile strength.
