Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 498850), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Statistics, Communication or a related discipline with at least three years’ post-qualification experience. Those with post-doctoral research experience in retirement and active ageing studies are preferred. They should demonstrate strong competency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
The Centre is conducting a study of third age planning and productive ageing for young-olds, which aims to empower the young-old generation to better prepare for the second half of their lives through increased autonomy, connectedness and competence. The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in managing and monitoring the project implementation; designing research methodology; managing communication with the funding body, project partners and stakeholders; overseeing data collection and data analysis; preparing presentations and reports; and supervising other research-support staff. He/She will have ample opportunity to collaborate with service professionals and academic experts.
