Full-time

This post is a thrilling opportunity for an experienced Learning Designer to join a new business and growing team dedicated to designing and developing degree courses for online delivery.

Coventry University has seen huge global successes in recent years: Times Higher Education University of the Year 2015, The Good University Guides' Modern University of the Year 2016, and now the 12th best University in The Guardian University Guide 2018. We have also achieved the top accolade in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), published on the 22nd June 2018 by theH igher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).

Coventry University has achieved significant global success in recent years. Coventry University Online is the Group's new dedicated digital-learning operation, responsible for the design, production and delivery of distance education products and services to students around the world. The100% online courses help busy learners study at their own pace for a range ofundergraduate, postgraduate and professional qualifications, and each offerson-demand access to flexible pay-as-you-go modules, bite-size study and customised one-to-one support as part of an international social learning community. The subsidiary Company has scaled at pace to deliver against a hugely aspirational mandate, and Coventry University Online currently offers 15 wholly-online degrees and a portfolio of other programs and short courses including collaborations with the Institute of Coding, City of London Police and OCN, delivering content to well over 100,000 students in just two years.

You might call yourself something different at the moment (e.g. Instructional Designer, Learning Technologist or Academic/EducationalDeveloper). As part of The Studio and Learning Design team  you will be responsible for co-creating, with University academics, high-quality online degrees that are innovative, inspiring and enjoyable.  These degrees will be accessible to thousands of new distance learners across the globe.

You will have experience of using your pedagogical, instructional design and educational technologies expertise to work with academics and digital media content producers to create visual storyboards that are the basis for designing and creating course activities, assessments and digital content. Part of your role will be to contribute to the establishment of mechanisms for building transformational and engaging student-centred learning experiences in a wholly online environment. This initiative is of significant strategic importance and will consequently have a great deal of visibility within the University.

To apply, please submit your application stating how you meet the requirements set out in the job description and person specification attached.
