Competitive salary + excellent benefits
Stratford Campus, London E15

If you are an experienced, ambitious and enthusiastic leader with proven expertise in Business Management Education and are looking for a new challenge in a vibrant, dynamic and diverse environment, then this is a perfect opportunity for you.

It’s a particularly exciting time for the University of East London, under our new 10-year strategy, we’re committed to providing students with the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world, including increasing the diversity of the talent pipeline, particularly for Industry 4.0 jobs. We also want to position our East London location as being at both the heart of a major global gateway and the local community. And, right now, we’re looking for a proactive individual with the ability to implement innovation and change to join the Leadership team of our School of Business and Law.

Day-to-day, you’ll lead and manage academic staff in the subject area and take responsibility for the budget, operational matters and the development of staff. But that’s not all. We’ll also rely on you to help develop the School’s strategic and operational plans and, as an active member of the School’s Leadership Team, engage and lead on a range of cross-School and University initiatives. Participating in high quality teaching, research and external engagement and relationships that further the strategic aims of the University and School will be important too. And, when it comes to facilitating and encouraging best practice in terms of learning, teaching and student engagement, again, we’ll count on you to deliver.

Educated to Master’s level, with a good first degree in a related discipline, you’ll also need a Doctorate and/or credible research/publication record and/or relevant professional experience. We'll be looking for a track record of successful leadership too, together with the ability to manage staff and engage effectively with key stakeholders and experience managing resources and budgets. Business Management expertise, gained either through professional and industry links or a research record of recent high quality publications in the subject area is essential. So too is the ability to plan strategically in order to deliver the School’s vision for the future and a flair for adapting the way you communicate depending on the audience.

At UEL, we aim to attract and retain the best possible staff and offer a unique working environment that combines a tradition of academic excellence and innovation with a location at the heart of a dynamic region with excellent transport links. East London is experiencing rapid development too, making it one of the most stimulating parts of London in which to work. We also offer a great range of benefits including pension, family friendly policies and an on-site nursery and gym at our Docklands Campus.

Closing date: 3rd November 2019.
