About the Role

We are seeking a talented acting and movement teacher to join our highly successful Music Theatre team. You will join a passionate team of professional teaching artists who are all autonomous, creative and collaborative. You will successfully prepare and deliver studio-based practical training, collaborate with and mentor academic staff in the development and delivery of curriculum and contribute to artistic projects. In addition, the position requires substantial subject coordination and academic oversight responsibilities. 

About you

You will be an experienced performing arts teacher, specializing in acting and movement, have experience teaching in a conservatoire-style tertiary training institution, experience in curriculum design and subject coordination and the capacity to provide relevant industry experience to support student and graduate achievement.

Your teaching practice will demonstrate a clear commitment to continually developing innovative practices that respond to the integration of the three skill areas of music theatre performance across diverse styles and the need to prepare students for diverse professional careers. You will have a track record or the potential to engage in the research profile of the Faculty

Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, you will work nestled amongst Melbourne’s major arts and cultural organisations and venues. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by.
