Job description

The School wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Integrated Clinical Practice / Medicine to lead and contribute to course management, course delivery and course development in this area and to undertake related research and knowledge transfer activities.

Working within a committed and enthusiastic team the post holder will focus primarily on the post graduate programmes within the School of Medicine including the General Practice and Clinical Practice, Management and Education programmes. The successful candidate will contribute to the areas of course delivery and assessment in these programme areas within the School of Medicine. The post holder will also undertake income generation, research and knowledge transfer through relevant activities and undertake specific course leader responsibilities in related programmes.

The successful candidate will hold a good honours degree in a relevant area as well as a teaching qualification or membership of the HE Academy. A relevant postgraduate qualification, PhD or equivalent or evidence of working towards one is desirable.

Experience of the leadership and management of relevant courses in Higher Education is essential, as is experience in the organisation, planning and delivery of education programmes in a clinical/educational environment is essential, including experience of teaching and assessing clinical skills. The successful candidate will have experience of working within Professional Body requirements and of undertaking research.

Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential; as is an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and maintain good working relationships with other healthcare professions and NHS partners.
