The Department of Geography at Durham University seeks to appoint an exceptional scholar as an Assistant Professor with research and teaching interests in the broad field of Human Geography. We are particularly keen to hear from those whose work encompasses quantitative methods, and whose work will complement and extend the current work in any one (or more) of our research clusters (Economy and Culture; Geographies of Life; Politics - State – Space; Urban Worlds). In addition to their research, the successful candidates will perform departmental administrative tasks commensurate with their grade and contribute to our wider human geography teaching programme.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to make a major contribution to the development of internationally excellent research and teaching while allowing you unrivalled opportunities to progress and embed your career in an exciting and progressive institution. Successful applicants will, ideally, be in post by 1 Sep 2020. Please direct informal enquiries to Prof Mike Bentley (Head of Department) m.j.bentley@durham.ac.uk.
