The Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking applicants who can bring to the Interior Design Discipline contemporary expertise and leadership - in particular, we welcome applicants who have experience in Asia and/or expertise in the areas of communication and/or technology.
We are looking to appoint an Associate Professor and a Senior Lecturer. Both are full-time positions. A part-time fraction will be considered if requested.
The Associate Professor will contribute to the leadership of outstanding teaching, research and scholarship activities of the Interior Design Discipline. You will lead advancement of teaching; lead research contribution in your area of practice research at national and international level; identify and attract external research funding; supervise higher degree by research candidates. You will make a significant contribution to the governance and collegial life inside and outside of the University.
The Senior Lecturer will foster an excellent student experience and be responsible for developing, teaching and coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Interior Design. You will make original contributions in teaching and/or scholarship which expand knowledge or practice within the Discipline; conduct and lead high quality research recognised at a national level; regularly publish research results in high quality outlets; identify appropriate funding sources and prepare successful external research funding submissions; oversee higher degree by research candidates.
Skills and Experience Required
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have qualifications and industry expertise in a relevant or associate discipline. Ideally you will bring outstanding creative practice and undertake research activities that engage with contemporary approaches relevant to the future of spatial and temporal environments. The role will also require you to prepare and deliver relevant high-quality programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Mandatory: A PhD in a relevant discipline area.
